5-3-2012 California:A homicide investigation is underway at Corcoran Prison after a convicted child molester from Santa Maria was murdered in his cell.
Prison officials say 67-year-old Gary Townsend Boyd was found unresponsive in his cell Saturday with a head injury. Another inmate is now sequestered, accused of killing him.
The Santa Maria man was serving a 72-year sentence for molesting a 4-year-old girl over a long period. At the time of that crime, Boyd was a registered sex offender convicted of sexually assaulting another child in 1984.
Boyd was living on N. Miller St. at the time of his arrest, nearly five years ago. ..Source.. by Beth Farnsworth
